So today I went for the Diabetic Education. A ton of info about eating, taking care of my feet, monitoring the blood sugar, and of course, exercise. It was a 6 hour class and most of it was worthwhile. Like I said earlier, I'm going for the lose weight, workout option. So I'm committed to going 5-6 days a week, 3o minutes of cardio and weight training. Today's workout was 30 minutes on the elliptical machine, 4 sets of chest presses, 3 sets of shoulder presses, 3 sets of tricep work and sit-ups.
I highly recommend Fitness for Dummies- you know, the series that has the yellow and black covers. It covers everything you need to know about exercise. http://www.dummies.com/WileyCDA/DummiesTitle/Fitness-For-Dummies-3rd-Edition.productCd-0764578510.html
For dinner I had two stuffed mushrooms for dinner-stuffed with spinach, salsa and feta cheese. I followed it up with a rice cake with peanut butter because I was still feeling snacky. 2 hours later I had a small bag of popcorn.
One of the things I have to master is planning my food and my portions-talk about a challenge!!!!
OK, changing gears. Obama lost in Pennsylvania yesterday. I still think he'll win the nomination, but my nightmare is this: somehow, Clinton pulls it out, she doesn't offer Obama the VP slot, lots of people stay home in November, and McCain wins. But I trust that its just a bad dream. The dems need to find a way to unite, but this primary season is bruising!!!
Until the next time.......

Congrats! You are taking care of yourself! We need to be proactive with Heath and Fitness. I too have been walking as part of monitoring my health. The weather has finally permitted many to take advantage of the beautiful parks. After speaking to a nutritionist, she stated if you need to be psychologically trained into thinking small portions, you can always eat more green - collards, spinach, asparagus, with your meals to make your meals more filling. The greens promotes nutrition and great bowel movements, which is apart of healthy living.
Obama, PA. I knew PA would not vote for him because of the demographics of the state. However, I am afraid that if the two finish with enough delegates, the two states whose votes did not count will play a role in the decision- which I dont think is fair, in addition to the superdelegates not making fair decisions. However, my Obama T-shirt says "Got Hope?" and I can only keep that alive.
